The Philippines for Ron Paul

We are Filipinos and Filipino-Americans who support Ron Paul for President of the United States of America.

Why do we support Ron Paul?

Well . . .

We are tired of entrusting a third of our income to the federal government and getting back almost nothing.

We are sick of watching politicians divvy up our money, not for the purposes they asked us to contribute to, but in order to dole out political favours to their friends and unaccountable special interest groups.

We are tired of watching politicians from both parties compromise our nation, endanger our families, and besmirch our public virtues by leading us into illegal, unethical, and agressive preemptive wars against other nations for short-sighted goals and dubious gain.

Before our Lord, our bretheren, and our neighbors, we stand in embarrassment and shame as we learn that our elected representatives, public servants, and armed forces have ordered and committed harrasment, kidnapping, illegal detention, torture, and murder and have demanded and encouraged allied regimes to do likewise.

All these actions and more are being done by our government, using our money, in our name, at the direction of our elected representatives, as they proclaim to the world that it is for our benefit.

This isn't OUR AMERICA!!!

For far too long, we have bartered away our liberties, our virtues, our wealth, and our friendly relations with the nations of the world. All of these, squandered for an illusion of of security.

We will no longer put up with it!! Neither will Dr. Paul!!!

What we seek is not another leader who will demand obedience from us, but a true representative who understands that his authority comes from the laws We The People have set up to govern ourselves, and understands that his power is limited to only what we have agreed in the Constitution that he should hold.

Who is this man to whom we entrust our authority?

Ron Paul is a doctor. He's an OB/GYN who has delivered more than 4,000 babies over his career. He's a family man, who has been married to his wife for 50 years. Together they have five children and 17 grand children. He served as a flight surgeon with the U.S. Air Force in the 1960s.

ron_paul.jpgDr. Paul became concerned about the direction the government was taking already in the 1970s and ran for congress. He has been a leading advocate for freedom in Washington since that time. He has voted against every tax increase which has ever come before him. He was one of only four Republican congressmen to endorse Ronald Reagan for the 1976 elections, four years before Reagan was nominated.

Congressman Paul’s consistent voting record prompted one of his congressional colleagues to say, “Ron Paul personifies the Founding Fathers’ ideal of the citizen-statesman. He makes it clear that his principles will never be compromised, and they never are.” Another colleague observed, “There are few people in public life who, through thick and thin, rain or shine, stick to their principles. Ron Paul is one of those few.”
